We often receive emails from people wanting information about their pet's behavior problems. We're not professional trainers, animal behavior experts, or veterinarians, so we always recommend you talk to the appropriate pet care professional about any behavior problem your pet is having. Researching on the web can provide additional information, but it is never as good as an "in person" consultation by a licensed professional. As long as that is realized, we will be happy to point you toward some web sites that may provide some useful information. However, because information on the Internet changes so frequently, we cannot guarantee the validity or usefulness of the information on any site we mention or link to.
(1) The Dumb Friends League provides, in our opinion, some of the best animal advice we have seen. When the League was founded in 1910, the term "dumb" was commonly used to refer to those who could not speak. The motto of their organization is, "We speak for those who cannot speak for themselves," meaning our companion animal friends. Their dog behavior advice includes things such as The Fearful Dog, Puppy Nipping and Chewing, Destructive Behavior, Housetraining, Separation Anxiety, etc.
